Wiki Discussion -- Where will it go?

TerishD,

The plan with the wiki is to migrate it to a stand alone version of the software, we shouldn't lose any data if I do it right. Then I will create http://wiki.adnd.com and it will become a stand alone site.

Not sure if I can integrate it with the drupal login/password system, but I am still looking into that.. So this plan may change down the road.

Lets move any and all discussions on the new site to the new forums over there, that way we can keep track of it in one place :)

Looks like this will solve the auth issues

I just skimmed this page, so need to read it more to make sure it is what we want/need.

Okay, new wiki software installed.. but....

I don't have any clue how to import the old wiki stuff to the new wiki.. If anyone knows what I need to do in order to get this working, please let me know.

Got it imported..

Yeah! It's there and all the data is there.. Now can anyone edit it, that's the question lol

Need permission to edit

I checked the wiki, and was glad to see it. I then did not see the [Edit] button. Went back to old system (it basically put me there with the hard links), and I edited some fields there. The changes did not show in the new system. I thus need the [Edit] button (probably just a permission flag).

Edit Button

I will look into it tonight, probably more of a config issue.. Since i imported the old data over, it may be holding onto the old URLs in some cases.

It seems to be working now..

It seems to be working now.. I took the page out of an iframe and made it a direct link, and I hit the edit button on the main page, you will see 'test' at the bottom of the page, so it saved.. give it another try.

Still need permission

Yes, I see the 'Test.' I still do not have permission to edit. Will wait for you to get to it.

I STILL need permission

I have tried everything I could think of, but still do not have permission to edit. It says that I am not in the group Users.

Okay looking into it.. Maybe

Okay looking into it.. Maybe something screwy with upgrading from the old wiki. Because, I do not see a group called users haha. I'll post back when I figure it out.

Try again

I tweaked the permissions again.. Let me know what happens.

Back to basics

All right, Steve, what are you doing? What I get is:

← Main Page

You do not have permission to edit this page, for the following reason:

The action you have requested is limited to users in the group: Users

I am logged into his version of ADnD.Com. Does this automatically authorize me for the wiki? When I try to log into the wiki, it does not recognize my name and password. I cannot find a link to create an ID for the wiki. Such is where I am at.

No, this is a new system..

No, this is a new system.. You have an account, but you need to reset the password. New database format doesn't work with the password encryption used in the old database.

So go to the login screen on http://wiki.adnd.com and do the password recovery thingy. Watch for an e-mail with directions. Also check your spam folder, for some reason when I did it the e-mail ended up there.

Wiki sharing login with Drupal

I think this project will be put on the back burner for now. Seems the modules needed for this are pretty old, and not being developed anymore. I don't want to risk introducing an exploit into the system by using something that is not supported.

So for now, the wiki maintainers will need to have a login for both the main site and the wiki site. Some day, I will work on getting the two working together with single sign on; just not today.
